NOTICE – Test Piles Installation August 7, 2018

Our goal is to be a good neighbor and keep you informed of upcoming work in the area.

For residents who live:

  • In Summerwood and Stillwater, east of West Lake Houston Pkwy

Construction crews will begin installing test piles within the next few weeks.

Piles are large cylindrical columns of steel that are hammered vertically into the soil and will be filled with concrete to support the bridge and pump station that will be constructed in Lake Houston.

Test piles are important to help reduce the final number of piles required and to determine the depth of installation for the support piles at the Intake Pump Station and Access Bridge in the lake. These tests will help save money and reduce the amount of time required to install the final piles.

During pile installation you may experience:

  • loud hammering sounds
  • noise from heavy construction equipment
  • some dust
  • construction vehicles in the area

Pile installation testing will take place from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Due to weather delays, if necessary, work may continue on Saturdays.  It is anticipated that the pile installation testing will take about 3 weeks from when they start until they are finished.
